In soccer by "Development of the game" the aim is to identify a certain behaviour inside of different situations of the game that allows, the player or the team, the concrete resolution in relation to the objective

The election of a "Development of the game" represents then the acting of a tactical thought of a soccer player or of a team based on the context on which they choose to behave. In practice the "Developments of the game" are not more than the words with which a text is described; from now on we can understand the importance of having an extensive dictionary out of which to choose the proper words to explain our thoughts.

The developments of the game are divided into two big families:
  • Developments during the ball possession phase
  • Developments without the ball possession phase
Each coach with their observation and analysis capacities can extrapolate from the matches and the study of the situations the "developments of the game" that they considers important to then reproduce them in a simplified manner during the training session, dictating principles and coherent behaviours with their creed and philosophy.

One of the developments of the game in the phase of ball possession that are the most important is the change of game which consists of moving the ball from one side of the pitch to another as fast as possible forcing the other team to move in order to find new passing lanes

In the proposed exercises players can become familiar with multiple situations, get used to elaborate their own thoughts and choose the development of the game to then experience with the time and space that they should use. In this context the coach can influence with individual and group corrections relative to the modes and the execution times.
