  • 4 cones
  • 4 markers (2 red, 2 blue)

  • Series: 2 series of 4 minutes with a 2 minutes of active recovery

Create a 15x10 meters playing area using 4 cones. Place the markers and the poles in pairs ìnside the rectangle, as shown in the figure. Divide the teams into 2 groups using the vests, teams A with the ball and team B as defending.

  • The coach calls out a color YELLOW, RED, BLUE
  • Player A starts dribbling, trying to go beyond the line made of markers/poles indicated by the coach
  • Player B defends actively on player A
  • When teams score or B recovers the ball, the action gets interrupted and players go back to their starting position
  • At the end of the first series both teams swap positions


  • Every time that player A overcomes the line indicated  by the coach dribbling the team, scores 1 point
  • Every time player A overcomes the line indicated by the coach dribbling and getting to the opposite side, the team scores 2 point
  • The most points after 2 series wins
  1. Indicate the shape of the objective (poles or MARKERS) in the case of the MARKERS players A can choose the pair of markers to face
  2. Limit the time of the attacking action
Coaching Points
  • Encourage the competitive factor during the exercise
  • The variant MARKERS/poles makes the situation difficult for the defender who has to be ready according to the striker decision
  • Carrying the ball to avoid opponentes includes: having the bust slightly bent forwards to cover the ball, keeping the head up, the touching foot must always be close to the ball, limbs consistent with the ball, performing the proper number of touches according to the distance that the player has to travel and finally using hands as possible sensors to find out where opponents are
  • Encourage players to use both legs during dribbling, in order to increase the unpredictability of the skill
  • Encourage players to keep the ball close to their feet, whenever it is necessary to overcome an obstacle it should be fast and easy to control the ball again
  • Make players get used to use their arms and hands as sensors to be able to find the position of opponents and keep the general body balancing
  • Requirements to beat the player: dribbling, senso-perceptive capacity, differentiation, monopodalic equilibrium, reaction and motor fantasy
