Have a square of about 10x10 meters (indicated by "D" in the figure) at about 12 meters from a regular goal (as shown in figure ). Within the square place two defenders without the ball, with two vests (green in figure), while goalkeeper defends the goal. Form two identical courses on the sides of the square ("A" and "B" in the figure), made up of 4 markers, a stake and a cone as shown in Figure. Place on a circuit about 15 meters long the 4 markers and the cone in line ( place the cone to approximately 3 meters from the last small cone), while the stack is positioned approximately 1 meter and a half from the cone, laterally with respect to the line. The strikers start with the ball from the first small cone, in pairs, one on each course. The other players wait in line for their turn.
- Players with the ball start simultaneously at the coach’s signal and play the course in dribbling
- Markers have to be crossed by controlling the ball in zig-zag
- Once in proximity of the last small cone the players controlling the ball avoid the stack and end the course at the cone, coming then back towards the square
- At this point, the coach gives a signal, indicating a line ("B" in the example)
- The player of the line “A” performs a pass to the coach and runs at full speed in the square
- The player of the line chosen by the coach ("B") shall enter into dribbling and look for the goal, engaging a 2 vs. 2 with the defenders and the mate of the opposite line
- After goal the strikers take the place of defenders inside the square
- Insert just one defender in the square, turning the exercise into a 2 vs. 1
- Change the courses by placing mini hurdles or stakes to train coordination skills, place the ball at the end of the circuit
- Increase or decrease the size of the field according to the ability of the players
- Pay attention to the position of the defenders during the exercise, shoulders should always be turned towards the goal
- Strikers must score as soon as possible
- Technical (or coordinative) courses should be performed at maximum intensity
- Exercise tip of the focus on defensive positioning in 2 vs. 2 dynamic situations
