Place the players inside the square, 4 players stay inside and play 2 vs 2 and 4 players stay on the sides (one on each side of the square). Each sideline player, plays together with the player on the opposite side.
- The 4 players inside the square are split into 2 teams of 2 players
- One team attempts to keep possession and move the ball from one sideline bouncer to the other on the opposite side (Playing North to South)
- If the other team wins possession they attempt to do the same with their sideline bouncers but playing East to West.
- The sessions takes 2 minutes interspersed with active recovery
- If the ball gets through to the sideline bouncer without losing possession, the team obtains one point
- 2 touches max. allowed for the inside players
- Sideline bouncers forced to perform oriented ball control
- With this kind of exercise we can instill essential concepts for possession. By taking as reference point the two sides of the team, we can give a direction to the game instilling concepts such as combination play, supporting, playing with width and depth
- Foster passing and controlling especially for the sideline bouncers who have more time
- Encourage the players to pass vertically quickly
- The inside players have to give a passing option to the ball carrier
- Modify the field sizes according to the technical capability of the players
